Just a poem

words carved into the houses, the buildings that your are surrounded by

tapping of footsteps on the pavement, places you would like to visit

possibly- “sometime in the future” you say

underneath it all you find yourself, wrapped up, surround by self doubt

but what for? not all is dull not all is grey

sometimes all of this- it drives you insane

like an aching pain, a tiresome collection of worries inside your brain

but don’t let it, let your heart free itself, let your feelings speak

you are not alone, you are not boring, ugly or weak

if you take a step a day, you will be fine and find your way

to a place, a feeling, a moment you appreciate

because it is much better to be late

than to never have tried at all

London- bookshops, museums, cafés and cute buildings

Getting through that autumn, winter blues

Not everybody likes the sudden change in temperature. The shorter darker days and weeks filled with rain. While I personally love the arrival of autumn I understand that some might find it hard. So here is a list of things you can do when you've got the autumn, winter blues.

Autumn is nearer than ever. The leaves are starting to change and the days are shorter and a little colder. It's the season of fruit and cosy moments so I decided to share my autumn pumpkin soup recipe with you. If you are feeling a tired and have a sore throat from the changes in the weather, don't worry I have a very delicious tea for you! Enjoy the wonderful autumn days that are about to come.

So I recently moved out. It changed a lot and made me a little bit uncomfortable. Berlin is huge and not very familiar. Growing older is very odd, very strange. Also I've been listening and singing a lot of Billie Holiday songs lately. That's a nice thing about having your own place- you can sing and dance without annoying your siblings. Also I've been writing a lot, which is nice I suppose. If you are feeling down there are a few nice things to do that might make everything a bit better, I keep making lists for myself. I made one for you too:

new posts / new beginnings

Hello everybody,

I was gone for a while and I am very sorry. I moved to Berlin and I didn't have an internet connection for a while. Now I'd love to blog more and share lots of things with you. Firstly I will always blog a little bit about the book I am currently reading or make reading lists. Also there are going to be lots of lists with nice things to do, because they really help me when I am feeling down. Maybe more playlists and even some painting tutorials. Anyways until then I will work on some blogposts for you and I am glad to be back!
If you want me to blog about anything specific let me know in the comments.

Much love,

Collaboration with @lamblittle

progress of a project

I am working on a collaboration with the lovely Jane Carkill, you can find her etsy shop here. We both started a painting and will continue and finish each other's works. I painted a little daisy and a peacock butterfly. Truthfully I am beyond excited to receive her painting and finish it.

Lily of the Valley - Convallaria majalis

This morning I worked on an illustration of the beautiful and fragrant lily of the valley. Sadly they are not in bloom anymore and I already miss their beauty. Luckily I photographed one so I could capture its beauty in a painting. Hopefully I will still add a little moth. I will also be uploading a video on the flower soon to my Nature's Wonders series on youtube.  I hope you are all well!

I am working on several projects. You can expect a little book with my illustrations and poetry soon!

A little moth painting

Today I worked on a little moth painting outside in the garden. I am finally working on my book with illustrations and poetry. It has taken me a long time but I hope that this little moth can be on the cover. The sunlight is beautifully calming, especially in the forests where the dappling of the light makes everything look so magical. I hope you are all well!

Papaver rhoeas

A page from my nature journal. I love these red poppies! They are colourful and give me a warm feeling of summer. The sky has been filled with thunderstorms lately and it smells like summer.

an inspiring illustration

  • the common poppy is notable as an agricultural weed

  • grows up to 70 cm high

  • the flower's stem is usually covered in little hairs

Interview: Wings Worms and Wonders

I am incredibly happy to announce that I was asked to do a little interview for the lovely Kelly Johnson. If you are interested you can read it here

Also be sure to check out the rest of Kelly's website that revolves a lot around nature journaling and working with and in nature.

So many things have happened in the past few weeks and I am completely mesmerised by the beauty of the world as well as life itself. I went camping, painted a daffodil, listened to the birds sing, invited friends over for a garden party, went for many walks in the forest and painted till deep in the night. I am excited to show you my progress of paintings I have been working on and want to apologise for the lack of content on this blog. I want to post more of my art and will try to do so from now on. I hope you enjoy the video of my dear friend Michelle and me painting a dandelion.

Spring moments

Spring is so very wonderful. When the sun shines it is such a joy to sit outside and enjoy the warmth. Birds sing so much more during spring and everything seems to wake up from a deep sleep. I spent a lot of time in the gardens and illustrated the beautiful wood anemone because I think it is wonderfully delicate and gorgeous.
