looking through art of 2015

A year of art.

A year of art and things I made- a splendid beautiful year with sadness and happy moments. Growth as an artist and memories on paper. I couldn't keep a diary but I could observe and paint. Spring was alive and truthfully so very enlightening. Summer was warm and endless but autumn felt short and now sunlight is precious. The beauty of the seasons every year again. I hope you have a happy new year everyone.

December

A Warm Afternoon
December came soon
on a frozen afternoon
when the night was illuminated
the stars: light sparks waited
in the misty moonlight
what a beautiful sight

Mushroom Painting

This little mushroom was created on a dark autumn day. The original painting is available here.
The dark clouds are swallowing me on this cold November afternoon.

That Tiny Little Red Mushroom

A rainy day and a tiny painting. The colours of christmas and the faint smell of cinnamon candles. The rain falls heavily on the roof while the wind creates a squeaking sound.

Nature Memories

Sharing an old notebook page from last winter. Documented observation are now just faint memories.

The beautiful autumn forest- like a string of sunlight, like a blanket of dreams.

I see the sun but I do not see the light. When I ride in-between the street and the pavement I listen to quiet songs and little soft melodies flow into my head. Where the words are twisted and put into a different order. When I think about the time I was not listening to songs but talking to people I feel a certain feeling of nervousness. But songs bring a feeling of pleasure and happiness. Music truly touches and brings a soundless smile to my face,

love
Johanna

PS: What is your song makes you feel many things at once?

Latest Paintings

The past week has been a beautiful autumn experience. The forests are now full of inspiration and rainy days bring mushroom growth. I am enjoying a cup of warm fresh ginger tea with honey listening to autumn melodies.

Autumn Sets

Autumn brings the joy of creating. Autumn parcels are now available here :)

The Essence Of Autumn

The essence of autumn: I feel the autumn breeze on my skin while I ride my bicycle to the dark forest. Moments of sunshine bring joy to a lonely heart. Autumn is colourful and pleasant. An autumn rain is dark and seems cold but brings such joy when seen from your bedroom window, while sipping a warm chamomille tea.

Autumnal paintings

Autumn weather and the smell of cinnamon. This is the season I feel most inspired by the ever changing forests. I adore the cold mornings and the sunny but chilly afternoons.

Painting / Progress

Paintings from the past months.
Summer is a lovely time filled with freedom and time. I had time to read and paint- did you read any good books? The summer air is warm and the sun brings a lot of light but I am very excited for the autumn days that hopefully are about to come. I am also working on a tutorial series How to paint (a mushroom / insect etc.)

Love and warmth to all of you

A walk in the summer forest- collected

Trees

I went for a walk and collected a blossom, a leaf and some moss. It is interesting how the forest changes the whole year through. After a rain storm everything is green and the paths are misty. I call this painting A walk in the summer forest

#plantlavender

#plantlavender

I am starting a small project- Plant Lavender
If you already have some lavender in your garden or will plant some in the future I would love to see your lavender patches. Post your pictures on instagram #plantlavender and help the bees.

Why?
-bees are important pollinators
-they are endangered due to habitat loss and pesticide
-without bees our supermarkets would have half the amount of fruit and vegetables

Ornithogalum umbellatum

One of my lasted scientific illustrations- it is so sad how all spring plants have now stopped blooming. Lucky there is beautiful red clover as well as other summer plants to be seen. The bees are buzzing happily and the holidays are just so calming and wonderful.

Thoughts on a rainy day

So it has been a while! The past two days have been very rainy and even though summer started last week there just hasn't been much sun. Next week the summer holidays start and I hopefully get to paint, create and explore. I started a youtube channel and am beyond excited to share videos with you. Hopefully you are all well and happy

When the forest awakens

Spring-  the most wonderful time of the year
The forest wakes and vivid green colours appear
Ferns that grow from the earth
Like the birth

A new painting and thoughts

Important

I just have one more exam to survive and just a few more weeks of school left before the summer vacations. Honestly I cannot wait to spend my days outside wandering through forests or riding my bicycle to some place wonderful every now and then. I am also very excited to start a youtube channel (how silly) and go places with my camera I have not used in quite a long time. If you have any special video wishes please do tell me! My first video will probably be called why I like the forest but I am still unsure. Hopefully you are all well and happy!

May mushrooms

illustration

I found some lovely little mushrooms after a rain shower. At home I painted them while listening to music and drinking tea. Painting mushrooms is enjoyable. I really hope you are all doing well!
